[from Scope and Content] Recites difference between the parties concerning two moieties of the fourth part of the manor of Stoke Rochford, and lands in Easton, one moiety of which (2) claims by conveyance from Wm. Jeter late of Skeffington and Eliz., his wife, one of the sisters and co-heirs of John Skeffington, esq., deceased, the other moiety he claims by conveyance from Dame Alice Ratcliffe, widow of Sir John Ratcliffe of Ordsall, Lancs., kt., and both of which moieties were charged with the payment of £100 to Dame Ursula, now wife of Sir John Skeffington, and of £50 each to Mistress Fowke and to the eldest daughter of Anne Wightman. (2) has offered £100, but (1) "for some reasons best knowen to himself" refused to take the same.

[from Scope and Content] Covenant that for so long as (2), his heirs and assigns shall enjoy the fourth part of the manor of South Stoke alias Stoke Rochford, and all messuages, lands etc. in Easton, late the inheritance of Elizabeth Jeter deceased, (1), his heirs and assigns may continue to occupy and possess the premises hereby bargained and sold.
